Life-Threatening Bleeding Control & Airway Management CPD Training : 1 day workshop / Life-Threatening Bleeding Control Distance Learning : Half day workshop
These workshops will equip First Aid Instructors with the necessary skills to facilitate their own courses in Life-Threatening Bleeding Control and also prepare for the introduction of improvised bleeding control which becomes part of the FAW course in January 2026. By attending, a 1-day classroom-based course Airway Management will also be covered to include the use of different types of airways.
The workshops have been developed to meet the requirements of industries that consider themselves to be at high risk following a suitable and sufficient risk assessment.
The training will advise on the inherent dangers associated with the use of both improvised and manufactured tourniquets and haemostatic dressings whilst administering first aid in a high-risk environment for the purpose of saving a life.
Syllabus
Both workshops are made up of theoretical sessions delivered by the Instructor who will provide a detailed course programme.
A range of subjects are covered including:
Session 1 – Life-Threatening Bleeding Control

[li]Recognising a life-threatening external bleed[/li]
[li]Improvised tourniquets[/li]
[li]Wound packing techniques[/li]
[li]Manufactured tourniquets[/li]
[li]Haemostatic dressings[/li]
[li]Casualty aftercare[/li]
[li]Dangers of the incorrect use of tourniquets and haemostatic products[/li]

Session 2 – Airway Management (covered on the classroom based 1-day workshop only)

Certification
You will receive a Nuco attendance CPD E-Certificate on successful completion of the workshop with the option of receiving a printed certificate at an additional cost. There is no expiry date on the certificate issued but regular CPD and refresher training is recommended.
Pre-requisites
All delegates must be a minimum of 18 years of age and hold a current first aid certificate.
